Welcome to September! The ninth month of the year and one of the most powerful for seeing our manifestations and intentions come to life! If you like to set intentions in the first few months of the year, September is often a time when we can start to see some progress.
If things are not going the way we intended, it’s also a good time to switch gears and explore new options and avenues. The Virgo New Moon on September 11th, will be a great point for this, and will help us tap into the space of infinite potential! There are more possibilities we have to explore, so stay open and challenge any feelings of being stuck. Setting intentions under this New Moon will help with the process.
Uranus, the planet of change and awakening, also stations retrograde this month, right before the Virgo New Moon on September 10th. As Uranus backtracks through the zodiac, we can use this energy to digest and integrate the changes and upheavals that have taken place since April of this year.
We may also find ourselves coming into a deeper place of authenticity when it comes to expressing ourselves and our voice.
As we reach the middle of the month, we experience the Equinox and the Sun moving into Libra. This is a powerful day for our planet, and a time when we can really soak up Mother Earth’s healing vibrations with ease. It is also a powerful point in our month to reflect on how we are choosing to spend our energy and whether our expenditure aligns with where we want to be.
The end of September brings a challenging Full Moon in Aries. Falling on the 26th, this Full Moon may present some obstacles and stir heated emotions. While there is quite a lot of tension around this Full Moon, there are also opportunities to reap the rewards of all we have sown. It feels like a mixed bag of energies under this Full Moon, where checks and balances will be made.

Astrology of September 2026
September 1: Mars Square Saturn
We begin the month with some tension brewing from Mars in Cancer squaring Saturn in Aries. Mars wants us to push ahead quickly, but Saturn wants us to slow down and make sure we are following the rules. This can create a stop-and-go pattern that can feel frustrating. You may begin to feel you are moving down the wrong path, or that you are fighting against the flow. But this energy invites us to slow down and be more intentional before we move ahead. If we feel stuck, we need to sit with it rather than fight against it. If we experience delays, trust their timing and know that having everything sorted now will save us issues in the future. Saturn gets the upper hand here with this energy dynamic, so don’t be in a rush to push ahead. Take your time, look things over, and make sure your foundation is strong before you push ahead.
September 10: Mercury in Libra
Mercury, the planet of communication, is all systems go as it moves through the sign of Libra. This is a great window of time to connect with loved ones, deepen your relationships, and shift your conversations to the other person, not just yourself! You are likely to learn something, and a new depth in your relationship can open. Mercury in Libra is also a supportive placement for sorting out legal matters.
September 10: Venus in Scorpio
Venus moves into Scorpio, unlocking some deeper emotions around our relationships. We may feel more connected to our loved ones and more open to vulnerability. We may also feel called to get in touch with ourselves. Venus in Scorpio wants us to fall in love with ourselves, to get to know ourselves better, and to honor our passions and desires. Doing some self-exploration, especially around relationships, values, pleasure, and desire, is a good way to use this energy.
September 10: Uranus Retrograde
A lot is happening on the 10th of this month, but the most significant will be Uranus stationing retrograde. Uranus just moved into Gemini and will be backtracking through the first few degrees of this sign. This is a chance to catch our breath and digest all the changes and upheaval that have taken place since the end of April 2026. We may notice themes or issues from the end of April coming back around for a revisit. We may also start to understand a little bit more about what Uranus in Gemini may be bringing our way. September 11: Virgo New Moon
The Virgo New Moon helps to bring a settling to the energies of Eclipse Season; however, it is a powerful lunation in its own right, and we may experience some big shifts and changes under this New Moon! New Moons represent a blank space and the infinite potential that lives there. New Moons are a chance to do things over, to begin again, and to set intentions for the weeks ahead. This Virgo New Moon will be particularly powerful for this, and will remind us that we do have options. This New Moon wants us to get organized and to assess all possibilities. It wants us to keep an open mind, but to also stay grounded when it comes to making decisions. You can use the energy of the New Moon to set intentions rooted in possibility and curiosity. You can also take steps to explore new avenues and to create structure around insecurity or unknowns. More to come on the New Moon soon!
September 15: Venus Square Pluto
Venus and Pluto will be in a tense alignment today, but if we ask ourselves, what can I learn from this? We may just unlock a new level of power. This cosmic alignment can bring power struggles with others or even with our own inner world. But, if we look a little closer and stay out of our egos, we may just uncover a powerful new realization.
September 17: Retrograde Chiron in Aries
Retrograde Chiron backtracks out of Taurus and into Aries for one final time. Chiron first moved into Aries back in 2018, and since then has been helping us to reach a new level of healing when it comes to our identity and egos. With Chiron entering Aries for the final time, it seems we are wrapping up those lessons for good, and perhaps even receiving the rewards of our efforts! Chiron is known as the wounded healer, as through his own wounding he was able to transform and transmute himself into a powerful healer, teacher, and psychic. We all have the ability to take our wounds and channel them into portals of power and healing for ourselves and others. We may find this to be the case for us as Chiron finishes its journey in Aries.
September 22: Equinox & Sun in Libra
A powerful day in our cosmic skies and a time to celebrate the Sun! The Equinox represents a time when we have equal hours of night and day. This signifies balance and cosmic order, and we can feel it within ourselves too. The planet’s energy grid is said to move into higher harmony under the Equinox, allowing us to feel rejuvenated by Mother Earth and all she has to offer. Spend time outside today, soaking up the powerful healing vibrations that are on offer. You can also charge your crystals or make equinox water. The Sun moving into Libra also supports balance and gets us thinking about where we spend our time and energy. Are we aligned with where we want to be, or is something draining us that needs to be addressed? Libra Season is a great time to explore this question.
September 26: Aries Full Moon
This is an intense Full Moon that will definitely bring some challenging energies to work with. We may find ourselves feeling angry or frustrated. Intense emotions may flow, or we may find ourselves having to deal with an intense situation. The good news is that the fiery energies are very short-lived, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t shift or change us. We may need to slow down, pay attention, and try our best to avoid careless accidents around this time. We may also find that intentions we set earlier in the year finally come to fruition. While there is a sense of fiery volatility under this Full Moon, there is also a sense of receiving rewards for our efforts too.
September 27: Mars in Leo
Mars moves into fiery Leo, adding to the fiery energy of yesterday’s Full Moon. We can use this energy to boost motivation for our passions and for play! Trying not to take things too seriously can also be helpful with this placement. Mars in Leo is also perfect for working on passion projects.
September 30: Mercury in Scorpio
Mercury, the planet of communication, moves into Scorpio, where it will later go retrograde. Mercury in Scorpio is the perfect energy for detective work. We can put our detective hat on and make some great progress getting to the bottom of complicated situations. This is a favorable time for researching and investigating.
