Nikki’s Weekly Tarot: January 16-22, 2023

Weekly Tarot

The cards pictured are from the Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck.

Ten of Wands and Nine of Wands

This week we will enter Aquarius Season and have a New Moon in Aquarius on the 21st. This fresh energy from the cosmic skies will help us to close out old chapters and start a new path. The cards are here to support our journey as we make our way through the third week of 2023.

The first card we are working with is the Ten of Wands. Through this card, we become aware of all the burdens we have been carrying. And as a number ten card, it shows us we are at the end of a cycle and things can not continue at this rate.

The many wands of this card represent our thoughts, worries, and responsibilities. We built them up slowly but now the load is too heavy to carry and we are at our limit. Things might feel chaotic, heavy, and out of our control. We have a strong desire for things to change but that change feels elusive.

With this card, our hope may be waning because we are not seeing the impacts of our efforts. The emotions that might come up are irritability and disappointment. But since we know we are at the end of this cycle we can hold hope that a new path is on the horizon.

The Ten of Wands can also point to a block in our communication. Maybe there are things we are wanting to get off our chest that we have had a hard time saying. Perhaps we have not known the right words to express how we feel.

How can we get clearer with what we want to say this week? How can we push ourselves to connect to what we want to see happen? How can we ask for help when things feel overwhelming?

I recommend writing things down. Write what you need to release and where you want to see changes for this year. Doing this will help get the energy out of your body and into the universe where it can start to be processed and eventually healed.

We are being called to work on our bundle of wands and allow others to help us. Remember, we do not have to take on everything all at once. Maybe just sharing what you are carrying out aloud can be the first step.

When the Nine of Wands comes up in a reading, it is here to assure us of our ability to overcome whatever we are facing. It’s also a lovely companion to the energy of the Ten of Wands.

This card reminds us of all we have weathered in the past and that whatever we are going through now will be no different. We will always make it through to the other side.

This beautiful card is balanced in both its imagery and its message. With the Sun on one side and the Moon on the other, the wands are suspended in the harmony of darkness and light.

The imagery relates to our feelings of balance and stability when we connect to our core selves. It speaks to the part of us that knows how truly capable and powerful we are. It helps to calm us by grounding us in this energy.

Just as important as our strength is our ability to trust. The Nine of Swords card calls us to trust ourselves. We have everything we need and we don’t need to overthink or doubt our abilities. We can accomplish whatever we set out to do. Our personal power and trust in ourselves will take us where we need to go.

Mantra for the week: Under the New Moon, I let go of what I can no longer carry and invite in supportive energy. I am filled with strength and trust in myself.
